How and when to grow your business.

There are many consultations where I sit across from a big dreamer of a business.   They have been in business a year or two and things are going well.  They are excited as their business is growing and it is time to hire.  They have tasted the beginnings of success and now want it all.  They see how easy it is for other businesses and they want that too.  They want to have employees, an office, vehicles, insurance, workmen’s comp, pay more taxes, payroll, rent an office space, and more.

But are they really ready for all that responsibility and overhead?  Have they created a business plan for that level of business?  Have they run the numbers and know what it will take to sustain that height of business.  What amount of work and funds must be brought in to maintain that intensity of growing the business too fast?  How ready are they to go from being a solopreneur, just selling and performing for what they need to keep the business going and pay themselves to selling enough to keep staff profitable, rent, insurance, and all the overhead that comes with increasing the business.

This is all possible as there are businesses growing all the time and success is everywhere.  But we are not talking about them we are talking about you.   How ready are you for that next stage of growth in your business?  Do you have the support in place for what it will take to get to that next goal?  What does that support look like to you?  How many hours are you willing to work to grow your business?  How about your spouse?  What about your family life?  What does the balance look like for you?  How will you manage your time?

All this said, it is not to discourage you from moving to the next phase.   This is to advise you that there is much work to be done and there is support.  That is where a business coach can work with you to guide and support you to where you are wanting to take your business to.

As your business coach, we will work together to create a plan of action to grow your business.  We will run the numbers, talk with insurance companies for quotes, look at your hiring process, and should you rent a space or work from home.  We will meet each week to set goals, plow through your challenges and knock out the small fires that pop up.  I’m the one that is on the outside of the box looking for things that are going to go wrong and right.   I’m finding the right people you need to support you in making more money and saving money.   For example, a CPA can do your taxes, but a great CPA that specializes in small businesses and works with you can not only do your taxes but be your tax preparer and set you up for success in saving on taxes.   That is part of what you will get working with the right business coach.   Let’s chat!
